RAINBOW THE CLOWN CELEBRATES
APRIL FOOLS' DAY AT LIBRARY
Carnegie, Pa., March 24 - Rainbow the Clown will celebrate April Fools' Day and the beginning of Spring at the Andrew Carnegie Free Library, 300 Beechwood Avenue in Carnegie Borough, on Saturday, April 1 at 1 p.m. Rainbow will also create balloon figures for children and do face painting on children's faces.
Miss Kelly, the Library's new Children's Coordinator, will host Rainbow the Clown's visit to the Library, which is sponsored by the Friends of the Andrew Carnegie Free Library. Rainbow the Clown's performance is free-of-charge to all children in Carnegie and the Chartiers Valley. Parents and other family members are also welcome to attend.
The Andrew Carnegie Free Library opened as the fourth free public library, constructed and endowed by the industrialist and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, on May 1, 1901. In addition to a Library, the cultural complex includes a 788-seat, acoustically perfect Music Hall(patterned after Carnegie Hall in New York City), 140-seat Lecture Hall, Civil War Museum, small in-town park, and discount bookstore.
The Andrew Carnegie Free Library is funded by the Borough of Carnegie, through an annual appropriation of the Borough Council; the Allegheny Regional Asset District, from the one percent sales tax levied in Allegheny County; the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; AND the generous donations given by individuals, non-profit organizations, and businesses in Carnegie and the Chartiers Valley.
