Thursday, Jan. 1 - New Year's Day - LIBRARY CLOSED; Library reopens Jan. 2, 1998 at 12 Noon.

Saturday, Jan. 3, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - Free Computer Class in Library - Access to Internet and computerized book catalog taught.

Saturday, Jan. 3, 12 Noon to 3 p.m.- Civil War Museum open for public tours; donation, for maintenance of artifacts, requested.
ALSO, monthly meeting of the Ninth Pennsylvania Reserves Civil War reenactment group - Lecture Hall, Second Floor.

Monday, Jan. 5, 7 p.m. - Adjourned Special Meeting of Library Board of Trustees at CARNEGIE BOROUGH COUNCIL CHAMBER, One Glass Street, Carnegie, Pennsylvania - To consider proposed amendment to Library By-Laws.

Saturday, Jan. 10, weekly, to Sat. Feb. 28, 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 Noon - Writers' Workshop for beginning writers. Cost for all eight weekly sessions: $50; for information and registration: (412) 276-8550. See also News Release.

Sunday, Jan. 18, 2 p.m. - Joe Negri presents "Jazz for Juniors" at Music Hall; Joe Negri and Purple Panda, from Misteroger's Neighborhood present a special musical program for children, open to "juniors" of all ages. Benefits the Andrew Carnegie Free Library; co-sponsored by the Carnegie Lions Club and the Historical Society of Carnegie. Advance tickets: $10 for adults, $5 for children purchased at Historical Society, One West Mall Plaza in Carnegie Borough or at Library, 300 Beechwood Avenue in Carnegie Borough.
