A.D. 2001

A.D. 2001 is the centennial year of the University of Pittsburgh School of Information Sciences which began as the Training School for Children's Librarians - the only school in the world devoted solely to children's librarianship - was started as a department of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. Renamed the Carnegie Library School in 1930, it became part of the Carnegie Institute of Techology[now, Carnegie Mellon University]. It transfered to the University of Pittsburgh in 1962 and became Graduate School of Library and Information Sciences. Click here for more information about this centennial.
